AOL OpenMail lets users access their Mail and other data using leading standard protocols as well as unique services. OpenMail comprises an entire bundle of e-mail related activities, including the user's address book and calendar. Plus our fundamental access and API formats will be quite familiar to developers who have written for OpenAim, or any other AOL Open Service.
  • Open Services: New Mail Count & List services enable e-mail checking widgets and gadgets. Coming soon: calendar services.
  • Widgets: OpenMail has a number of ready-made gadgets/widgets ready to use on web pages.
  • IE8 advanced features: AOL now supports an IE8 activity to send mail through AOL. Coming soon: Web Slice to view your mail.
  • Web Mail: Direct URL links to individual messages, and the ability to write messages. Coming soon: Web Mail panels.
  • IMAP/SMTP: For full access to e-mail, industry standard IMAP and SMTP protocols serve clients from phones to desktop e-mail clients.
