AIM Developer - AIM Enabled
AIM Enabled
Why Am I Here?
We have opened our doors to expand the ways that we all communicate every day. We now invite developers to create and distribute software that utilizes our expansive network.
What is an AIM-Enabled application?
It is a product, plugin or custom client created by third party developers to work with the AIM Network. However, please understand that while they are compatible with our network, AIM-Enabled applications are not endorsed or recommended by AOL® or the AIM® service.
Safety First
Carefully evaluate any situation before providing your screen name and password to a third party. When using AIM-Enabled applications, keep your password and screen name safe. AOL and the AIM service are not responsible for any outcome that results from you providing your password or screen name to any third party.
Privacy Policies
You should take the time to learn about the information practices of AIM-Enabled applications that you use.
- When you use an AIM Enabled application, the provider of that application may collect information about you, and the use of that information is subject to the privacy policy determined by the application provider.
- The privacy policies of AIM-Enabled application providers may be different from the AOL or AIM privacy policy. They are neither approved by nor endorsed by AOL or the AIM service.
- Information collected by AOL or the AIM service as a result of your use of the AIM service is subject to the AIM or AOL privacy policy to which you agreed.
You Should Also Know
We encourage you to consider all consequences when using any AIM-Enabled application. For example, if the AIM-Enabled application sends messages to a mobile phone, remember that additional mobile charges may apply.
In addition, access to the AIM Network, even via an AIM-Enabled application, remains subject to the terms of service to which you agreed when signing up for the AIM® service. If you have any questions about the terms of service applicable to your use, please click here.
Reporting a Problem
If you experience any complications with an AIM-Enabled application, please contact the software developer or uninstall the software from your computer.
If you feel that any AIM-Enabled application violates the AIM Terms of Service to which you agreed, please email us at ReportDevAbuse@aol.com.
