just wanted to clarify a few things regarding the Vidoop ImageShield integration for AOL/AIM OpenID users:

• All Vidoop ImageShield Passwords are stored in AOL. No information about user is shared with Vidoop.
• The Vidoop ImageShield is used as a 1st factor login credential, unlike Verisign VIP Token, which is a 2nd factor login credential.
• At this time no image ads are used in the Vidoop ImageShield.

AOL today announced three new iPhone OS applications: AIM, the leading instant messaging service; AOL Radio, the most popular online radio service and recent recipient of an Apple Design Award; and Truveo, the leading video search engine are available as free downloads from the Apple App Store beginning today.

This is a followup to my earlier blog with the same title (Vidoop ImageShield for AOL OpenID Users ?). Yesterday we opened up our private beta as a public beta for all AOL/AIM users that use their AOL OpenID to login to any 3rd party websites that supports OpenID (Relying Parties). To try it out just go to any OpenID relying party site and login with your AOL OpenID (openid.aol.com/) . In the OpenID login page you will see an option to add a Vidoop ImageShield Password to your account.

Back on June 24th Eric Goldsmith presented pagetest at the Velocity conference. It was well received and he learned some critical presentation lessons (the most important being not to put up an url for something you're going to demo on the first slide with an audience full of geeks with laptops). Dulles: June 30 2008 - For the past month I have been using a beta version of the Skyfire browser (0.6.0.4503) on my AT&T Tilt (Windows Mobile 6). When my Tilt is connected to either WiFi or 3G, Skyfire is very good. Skyfire displays the full web page - but on the Tilt, most of the page is too small to read. But once I click on a section of the page to read, Skyfire brings up the section with clear, readable text and images are cleanly displayed. While connected to AT&T's 3G in my backyard, I was able to surf the web fairly well for an hour including reading blogs and viewing videos.

So the OAuth Summit finally happened yesterday at the Yahoo! campus in Santa Clara, CA. It was great meeting with a lot of other folks that have been working on OAuth for a while now from different companies and organizations.

Dulles: June 25, 2008 - Yesterday morning Nokia announced the creation of the Symbian Foundation. Nokia will purchase the remaining 52% of Symbian shares and donate the source code to the open source community through the Symbian Foundation. In 2007 there were 77 million Symbian smartphones sold worldwide dominating the smartphone market. Initial reports indicate the first handsets based on open source Symbian will appear in early 2010.

Dulles: June 24, 2008 - The recently released Flagship AIM beta has scored well!

CNET: After the sophistication of desktop chatting, mobile instant messaging services often tend to look like rough, rickety wire frames. Not so for AOL's first house-made application for mobile phones...AIM for Windows Mobile is a notable effort that serves AIM loyalists well...

GIZMODO: It looks pretty swank, at least as far as WinMo apps go, and more than satisfying for a mobile AIM client.

Dulles June 9, 2008 - With 59 business days to the Open Mobile Platform 0.5 August 31, 2008 release, there is a whirlwind of activity spread across AOL development teams in Seattle, Dulles, Bangalore Development Center (BDC) and Beijing. OMP 0.5 will be released to the open source community with five reference applications including a MapQuest client, a Bluestring uploader application, an AIM client using OpenAIM, an RSS reader and an LBS application. User documentation will also be included with the 0.5 release.
