Adding a new User

Hello, I have just recently been asked by my teacher to make a plugin for an E-Learning environment that utilizes users to be able to do many things, one of which would be to add their friends to their AIM Buddy list. I have been able to sign in to AIM and get users, however I have yet to find anything in the web API to show how to add a new Buddy to my user list. Any help that fellow developers might be able to give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks you a lot for the help!!
