They did that little thing on South Park, and they mentioned my name and had a character of me judging a Halloween contest. It was really funny. That made me the coolest aunt on earth. - Tina Yothers

On May 13th the TopCoder Truveo Developer Challenge was launched – with $100,000 in prize money up for grabs! The contest runs until July 21st! Truveo.com is a one stop place to search and browse the millions of videos available on the Internet today. Truveo searches metadata associated with video hosted around the Internet, producing some of the best video search results available.

So you want a shot at the money – but haven't played with Truveo before? Well you're in luck I have a ton of information for you in my previous blogs and articles – more than enough to make you a Truveo pro!

Truveo Blogs

I'd suggest that you get started with my Getting Started with Truveo blog. This will give you some basic background on Truveo. I've also reviewed how to monitor your Truveo application in my blog posting Profiling Your Truveo Applications. Also in my blog I profiled the Presidential Election Mac OS X Dashboard widget I created – you can find more information here and here.

Truveo Articles

I also have a number of articles where I detail my development of a number of Truveo widgets and applications. First is Elephant's Pajamas – where I build a video joke of the day widget for the Mac OS X Dashboard. Next is TruveoCast, another Mac OS X Dashboard widget that lets you browse the video favorites of other users in a cool way. Finally there's my two part article on Open House on Demand, where I create a video open house powered by Truveo. Here is Part 1 and Part 2. Also Mark Blomsma wrote an article showing how he developed an NFL Video of the Day Vista gadget!

Source Code

I know you're thinking a bunch of blog postings and articles is great – but I want some code to get me started. Each widget and application that I've written about includes links to the complete source code – be sure to check the resource sections at the end of the article or blog posting.
