Web Version X Drive Error 3302?

I am attempting to upload some music files inside a folder.

I've tried every combination of large and small (1-100 files) file upload to get it to work.

Every item I try to upload gives me this error "0 files out of 4 were successfully uploaded. Open failed Error Code: 3302."

I have searched all over the FAQ and Support pages for AOL X Drive and also done the standard Google searches and extended effort searching for "Error Code: 3302". No luck yet...

I did find something that said XP has an issue with the Java and to delete my Java Cache. I did that, nothing changed...

Can anyone elaborate on this?

I have ready about the meaning of error 3302 but there's nothing I can do about it since it is a server/networking issue. Who at AOL/Xdrive can help me with this? The username is tucch2. I cannot upload files this morning.

3302 error still persisting!

Error 3302 is still persisting! everytime i try to upload something, i get the error msg and it doesn't upload anything at all!

Any hope of rectifying this in the near future?

Why the 3302

Hey everyone, thanks for your patience in this.

I wanted to follow up with you all and explain what happened and what a 3302 error means.

A 3302 error is returned anytime we are unable to open a file. It turns out that we literally had some wires go bad on us (naughty network cables), and some requests to our storage were timing out. It was tricky to track down because we have multiple paths to the same storage units for redundancy. So it would only timeout when you hit the bad path when the path was having problems. But everyone reporting in helped us find the bad path and it has been replaced.

Your files and the storage was always safe. The path to access your files were the problem.

So, if you were uploading, and we couldn't open a file on our storage to write it to, or you tried to download a file on that bad path; you would have received a 3302 error. Our networking group has since added these paths to our monitoring so we will catch it faster if this happens again.

Yeah, I should have given it a day. But I was weirded out by the fact that it worked for the first item in an upload list, but not the rest...

I've been getting this error from day one. I tried uploading again today 9/17/07 and am getting the same error. I have completely lost confidence in this service. It's no good to me if it's not reliable. Let me know when you get the bugs worked out.

A month and a half after the above thread (found via google) and I am repeatedly getting exactly this error. Today uploads absolutely do not work for me.

Open failed Error Code: 3302 and XDrive desktop problem

I am getting this error code (3302) when using the accellerator, and also cannot use the XDrive desktop to upload. With the desktop I got the error "An unexpected network error occurred". Unfortunately, I was trying to upload a new version of the same file that I had previously uploaded. Now the original that was already on XDrive is 0 kb. Of course, I have a backup on my hard drive, but this is disconcerting, to say the least, that XDrive would wipe out the current file before the upload was successful.

It is 11:11AM (MST) on Thursday, May 8. I was able to upload some files to Xdrive around midnight earlier this morning but soon after that i started getting the error code. i've tried and tried to upload files over the course of the last 11 hours and keep getting this infuriating error message. what's even more frustrating is that it worked the first couple of times during the 11 o'clock hour late last night. I've been getting the 3302 error for a few days now when trying to upload. Will downloading work (I haven't tried yet.)? Will this be fixed, or should I sign up with Carbonite?

I am also getting error 3302 on every version of Xdrive I run, it tells me I don't have access to the directory that I am attempting to save to, I get this on every directory and I am the only one even accessed to Xdrive so I would HAVE to have access. The file then shows up in my dirctory with 0 kb for memory.
When I open the file up it is blank.

Recommended alternative services?

Since AOL does not appear to be overly interested in fixing the 3302 error, even for their paying cusomers, does anyone have any recommendations for an alternative service. I have a home based business and I need DEPENDABLE access to a service that can transfer large files to other people via the internet.

I have the error 3302 showed after i tried to upload any document(ranging from 100bytes) to my xdrive. But none of the document is uploaded.

I'm a paying x-drive customer who has been trying to upload since 9 am on Tuesday Feb 5th, 2008. It's 12 hours later and I still can't upload anything. Many users are reporting the same problems. What is going on!!!!

I see these messages were posted earlier in 2007. It is December 6, 2007, and I am continuously getting error code 3302 when I try to upload files to XDrive. I understand that there is no support for "free" members other than the online help. It is a bit frustrating to get this error code for a long period of time, and be unable to actually talk to a person who might be able to get it fixed.

Why do I bother?

Out of curiousity I thought I would try X-drive again. It hasn't worked since I signed up. The last time I tried was in September '07. Here it is three months later and it still doesn't work. The same old error 3302. If I pay money to AOL will it work? Nah, probably not. Since there's no response, are these messages stored on X-drive? Is Google the only place they show up?

When I try to upload I get error 3302. When I try to download I get empty files. Please advise. The files on Xdrive are very important. They are papers in an online journal which is scheduled to be published in two days. They still need to be worked on. This is extremely urgent. My username is spongejournal.

Xdrive used to work on my system - but now it doesn't. Like one of the earlier posters, I'm also interested in purchasing additional storage but I certainly won't until the 3302 error has been fixed - and a reasonable explanation given!

Good lord. How long does it take to fix a problem like this? I'd like to pay XDrive for more storage, but god knows that I'm not going to fork over money for a service that doesn't work. I've been having this upload issue since June -- here it is October, and the problem is STILL an issue? This is a doomed business mode.

Anybody know of good alternatives to this poor service?

Still screwed up

Hey fellows, here it is 11/24 and there are still problems. When I try to upload photos X drive doesn't work and I get a readtime error. Haven't been able to DL anything for the past 6 months. It told me to erase my cache which I did, but nothing happened. I am so sick of X drive. It's been nothing but trouble since it came out.
Thanks for nothing AOL. Maybe next time offer us something dependable. Oh yeah, check out the McAffee free you get with AOL. It plays havoc when you try to run msconfig. Had to take it off my machine.

Update: After erasing my cache, I removed the free version of McAfee that AOL game me. X drive now works and msconfig has no problems running. Hope this helps.

Xdrive has been useless since I signed up. Have never been able to upload anything. I've been getting this error for over a month. I tried from different PC's, different browsers, upgraded java to latest. Nothing works.

..........so far no help by AOL responsibles. I uploaded a new java release, eliminated chronology and cookies. No improvement!
What can we do unless forget the unuploadable folder?

I got the error too after switching from Lite to Desktop to web. I cannot upload file using any of the supported methods. It has been like this for a few days. I am surprised that nobody at Xdrive had posted any notice about this.

By the way, the environment that I run Xdrive is Vista Home Premium.

Paying subscribers have access to phone support, email support, and the Online Help System/User Guide. They will see this information when they login to their Xdrive accounts via the Xdrive Web Interface by clicking here.

Free account holders do not see the disclosure of the phone number or the email address anytime or anyplace during the use of the Xdrive Desktop Application or the Xdrive Web Interface. Sorry.

My recommendation is if you continue to encounter the Error Code 3302 condition while using the Xdrive Desktop Application switch over to the Xdrive Web Interface. Unfortunately no drag and drop feature (maybe later) while using the Xdrive Web Interface but you can upload files, folders, and even perform a Web Backup.

I've had XDrive for a couple of months. Now, when I REALLY need to, I can't upload anything! It's AGGRAVATING. I am NOT going to go to a paid account if the free one isn't reliable. Can it really be that Error 3302 is a "network path" problem? AGAIN?

I am sorry about the experience you have had with Xdrive. Most of our customers don't have these issues, but based on your posting, I bet a lot of them are also not running the same version of McAfee.

I really appreciate that you took the time to write in your problems, and even more helpful, gave us a specific direction to look into. I will pass this along to our engineers and our QA group so that they can look into this more.

I hope this posting saves other users some grief until we can resolve these issues on our end.

Error Code 3302 Condittion

As mentioned before by xxxlucas the Error Code 3302 is a infrastructure issue and cant be corrected by consumers making changes on their machines or to the Xdrive Desktop Application settings. This condition affects both paying and free account holders. No favorites. So that means that AOL needs to tune the infrastructure since it appears that someone has made an infrastructure change that is preventing Xdrive consumers who use the Xdrive Desktop Application from using the service.

I have been testing 'uploading' using the Xdrive Web Interface Accelerator Plus feature from home all day today and while the transfer rate is quite slow (less then 55 kb/s on avg) it is working and only once did I encounter a condition that prevented the successful uploading of data into my account, so far.

My recommendation is if you continue to encounter the Error Code 3302 condition while using the Xdrive Desktop Application switch over to the Xdrive Web Interface. Unfortunately no drag and drop feature while using the Xdrive Web Interface (maybe later) but you can upload files, folders, and even perform a Web Backup.

Just in case other Xdrive® consumers are not aware, you now have three choices to store, share and access your digital assets.

  1. Xdrive® Web Interface
  2. Xdrive® Desktop Application
  3. Xdrive® Desktop Lite - Beta

I wanted to reply quickly so that everyone will be assured that I am working on recreating the Error Code 3302 conditions on all threee services that you've reported while using the Xdrive® Products.

FYI...as of this time I have yet to be able to recreate the error 3302 in any offering.

Based on my experience and previous post in this thread by myself and xxxLucas, it sounds like you've encountered a condition that is specific to where your accounts data lives. So what has to happen is that since this condition is most likely affecting New Xdrive® account subscriptions who have either lost their HOME DIR or they need to have their accounts repointed back to their assets. This is time consuming and labor intense.

I know that from a consumers point of view you don't care about technical jargon and the like but keep in mind that this is the Xdrive® API Developer Support Forum.

In any case what's need in this situation is for Xdrive® consumers to understand what Level of Service they are entitled to while using the Free 5GB and the Paid 50GB services. I'll go into that only if the demand is there for it. So that means it's up to the community to decide.

Okay...I hear you all saying...Well XDMOlson who's going to fix the Error Code 3302 condition that I have while using all three product offerings? My answer...working together you and I are going to have to provide some Discovery information for the Xdrive® Product Team.

I'll start...Monday on the initial reports of this error code 3302 condition I started my testing using the Xdrive® Web Interface, since that's where the first report of the issue was noticed. Unfortunately I was not able to reproduce the condition, in fact I was successful in Uploading a 1GB .txt file in 5hrs:44mins:22secs at an avg rate of less then 50KB/s, not great but fair. Then I tried using the Xdrive® Desktop Lite - Beta offering...I encountered some issues during the Upload Transfers...it seems to stop after the third file...everytime...that's for sure not how's it's supposed to work. So more fine tuning is needed from the Xdrive® Product Team.

So I've captured screeen shots of my experience while using all three product offerings and I will be providing those and a detailed write up of the experiences I encouter. Just as soon as I can put it all togther and get it posted here. This is known in the AOL world as Discovery Information. So working together we help ourselves and the Xdrive® Product Team.

Error 3302 with both Desktop and Web interfaces

Hello,

I tried to upload files to my account using both the desktop interface and when that didn't work, I tried the web interface. In both cases I keep getting error 3302. As another user has mentioned this error has been there since March 17.

I Googled the error and it seems like users have been complaining about this error since 2006. It is definitely a serious issue and I am surprised it hasn't been fixed yet.

I wouldn't mind reading about the technical issues regarding this error and how it is being fixed.
