Why are two separate Terms of Service (TOS's) required to use the Upload API?

The AOL Developer Network Agreement and Terms of Service is the agreement between AOL and you, the developer, and is not seen by your end users. The other -- the Uncut Video User Agreement -- is the agreement between us and the end user who actually uploads the video.

Once I upload a video with your API what will I be able to do? Can I query it and do other functionality programmatically?

While our initial API only allows upload functionality, we will soon provide other APIs for browsing and asset management. However, right now you can use our Player module to play back your content on your page, just using the Asset ID that is returned via the API.

Can I allow my users to delete their videos after they upload?

Currently, we are only exposing the Upload API. For users to remove videos from the AOL Video libary, they will have to log in to their account on uncutvideo.aol.com and delete the asset manually from our pages.

What is the difference between AOL Video Uploads and AOL Video (and how about Truveo)?

Will my users need an AOL account in order to use the upload service?

Your users need to have a valid AOL or AIM screen name in order to use the upload service. However, you can now get a screen name for free, or even register using an existing email address.
